In circa. 1987 the Domeque family finally agreed to sell their holiday home in San Roque, a beautiful old finca surrounded buy cork trees.

Set in rolling countryside bordering on Sotogrande and only ten minutes from Gibraltar it had been a long time ambition of Tony Jacklin (ex Ryder Cup team manager and player) to buy it and start a development with a first class Golf course.

Tony fulfilled his dream but only for a few months, dogged by  bureaucratic problems and a sharp turndown in the property market forced a sale in 1988 to Asahi Kanko a leading Japanese Golf course operator.

San Roque Golf Club is today an excellent example of a first class development offering Golf, Restaurants (Japanese and European) Hotels and sport facilities; it is a credit to the attention to detail of it's owners and staff.
